Jackson Exotic Dinky (Player’s Choice)

YEAAAHHH!!!!!

This was my first electric guitar ever and it’s a stunning rock machine. It was bought in, let me think, around 1999 near Frankfurt, Germany and it’s been with me ever since. It comes in a solid hard case.

I’ve loved and played this guitar a lot so both the guitar itself as well as the case has a good few bumps here and there. None are super serious but it does, in my opinion, make this guitar more suitable for someone who actually wants to play it rather than someone who will would lock it up in a glass display cabinet as a collection piece.  I also lost the back cover that sits above the tremolo springs. You should be able to get a replacement one fairly cheaply though.

Really the best way for you to judge the condition is to take a good look at the many photos below. I tried to takequite a few from different angles etc to show of the condition. Note that, overall, the metal bits have all tarnished a little bit, but I think that’s to be expected for a guitar that’s nearly 20 years old!

To give you a bit more infomation, here’s a link to the guitar in the original Jackson catalogue: Jackson Catalogue scan at audiozone.dk. It was also featured on a nice center spread here and here.

As you can see it was part of their “Player’s Choice” series, which really were some of their top end instruments. Everything about this guitar is stunning. The wood, the finishing, the binding – it’s all top notch!

It has a transparent red finish over a quilt maple top and a Hawaiian koa body. From what I understand this is now a seriously rare wood that’s very hard to get hold of – it looks absoultely stunning though and is what gives the guitar it’s “exotic” name.

The fretboard is made from pau ferro, also known as Brazilian ironwood. It’s similar in tone to rosewood, but it’s harder and has slightly differnt tonal qualities. The neck is made from
quartersawn maple and the guitar is finished with Seymour Duncan pickups, gold hardware and an original Floyd Rose tremolo.

Very few of these guitars exist and I’ll be sad to let her go. If you’re interested in this beauty, please get in touch to enquire about a price.

Speak German? Ich kann auch Deutsch sprechen falls es einfacher ist!
