Takamine EF261SAN 6 String Acoustic / Electric

THIS GUITAR HAS NOW BEEN SOLD

This guitar is just striking – playing an accoustic has never been this easy!

Background

I played a lot of accoustic guitar in my last band and we needed something that we could easily plug into our PA and play at gigs; that’s how I ended up with this beauty. It’s small, nimble and play’s great. Nice action and good intonation. It also comes with a protective hardcase.

According to the Takamine website:

The EF261SAN is handcrafted in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades. Due to its diminutive small size and playability, this model is ideal for electric players that need to switch

back and forth on stage. The solid cedar top, finished in a gloss antique stain, gives this model a depth of tone unexpected from a smaller sized guitar. Includes Takamine’s Palathetic™ pickup, known in the industry as one of the most accurate and natural sounding acoustic/electric pickups. The CT4B preamp has long been the popular choice among Takamine pro artists, providing warm natural acoustic tone at high sound pressure levels

Wow!

Condition

Unfortunately, there’s no denying it. This guitar has seen better days. Overall, I’d give it maybe a 4 out of 10. :(

Good news is though, as with all the equipment on this blog here, its’ still completely functional. It plays great, sounds fantastic when it’s plugged in and, in my opinon, actually looks kinda cool somewhat beat up! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves:

For this one I’ve tried to just take as many photos as I could. Hopefully they’ll give you a good idea of the damage. In short, there are 3-4 major knacks on the front, 1 on the fretboard, and one on the edge of the side and back. All around, there’s a variety of scratches and dents. Sorry but I really used to rock out quite hard on this guitar. Somehow in my old band we’d always come up with songs on the acoustic, jamming in the bedroom, but I’d then forget to ever switch to an electric. We ended up with quite a rocky sound but I’d still always play with this acoustic. In the end, it’d often get a bit of a beating on stage. Oh well…

Shipping and Payment

Here’s a general blurp about shipping. The guitar comes with a nice hardcase and I’d be happy to ship it via courier if you pay via PayPal. Ideally though you should come have a look at the guitar in W6, Hammersmith, London.

This guitar retails new for around £750 to £800. That’s also roughly what I paid for it when I bought it. Unfortunately, it hasn’t had an easy life so I’m now looking for around £449 for this baby.

THIS GUITAR IS NOW SOLD

I think this is a chance for you to bag a great-sounding guitar, manufactured with good materials and experienced craftsmanship, for a decent price due to the cosmetic damage.

If you’re happy to have your guitar look a bit beat up (come on, it’s kinda cool actually! It’s got a real vintage vibe!) then look no further and grab this bargain.

Any questions? Get in touch! Also, don’t forget to take a look at all the other cool stuff I’m selling in an effort to save up for something special!
